ONEONTA, N.Y.—The SUNY Oneonta cross country teams hosted the Airfield Invitational this afternoon out at Fortin Park in the Town of Oneonta and came away with a 10th place finish overall out of 19 schools that participated. The Red Dragons scored 313 points as a team, 29 points out of 9th place, which went to SUNYAC rival Plattsburgh. St. Lawrence University was the overall team champion with five finishers in the top 15 as they scored 42 points, 18 points ahead of SUNY Geneseo.
Today's meet served as a preview of the NCAA Div. III Atlantic Region championship, which will be held at Fortin Park on Saturday, Nov. 13 beginning at 11:00 a.m.
The Red Dragons were led today by Oneonta native
Nick Madison (Oneonta/Oneonta) (Oneonta), who finished 34th overall. Madison was Oneonta's top individual finisher at last year's region championship as a rookie.
Right behind Madison were two of his classmates,
John Longo (Endwell/Maine-Endwell) (Endwell) and
Chris Harvey (Kings Park/Kings Park) (Kings Park), who finished 59th and 65th respectively.
Rounding out the top five for the Red Dragons today was freshman
Mitchell Todorov (Clifton Park) and senior
Tim Greenberg (Oneonta/Oneonta) (Oneonta).
