Sean Bernstein honored for second time this winter

Junior earns SUNYAC male track athlete of the week

FREDONIA, N.Y.—SUNY Oneonta junior track & field athlete, Sean Bernstein (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker), has been honored a second time this winter for his performances in leading the Red Dragons.  SUNYAC Commissioner Pat Damore announced today that he was selected as the Male Track Athlete of the Week.  Bernstein was honored earlier this indoor season in December.

Bernstein led the men this past Saturday at the Hamilton College Invitational.  He won both of the events he competed at the non-scoring meet.  Bernstein ran a personal best time of 6.97 in winning the 60-meter dash. His time is currently the fastest time in the SUNYAC this season and the 7th fastest time in Div. III.  His second win on Saturday came in the 200-meter dash in which he crossed the line in a time of 22.51.

Bernstein has one SUNYAC title to his credit as part of the 4x400-meter relay, which he garnered in 2010.  Bernstein missed all of last indoor season with an injury.

The men will be back in action again this Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Class of '32 Invitational hosted by Colgate University.
